Sean Brassil, Practice Manager

Sean was born in South Africa and emigrated along with his family to Canada in 1994, settling in Lynn Valley. As Sean worked his way through College and University, earning a Diploma In Operations Management and a Commerce Degree specializing in Entrepreneurial Management, he worked a variety of jobs ranging from barista to welder and machinist. During this time he developed a love of craft and taking the time to do things right.

Over the years Sean spent time working in a variety of industries ranging from Motorcycles to the Optical industry always progressing to Senior Management level. Most recently he managed the largest Canadian distributor of bicycle parts and accessories.

Fatigue with corporate rat race and the necessary compromises when operating at that scale caused Sean to try and find a way to get back to interacting with people in a meaningful way, providing good service and great value. A desire to provide a hands-on, exceptional patient experience within an a warm welcoming environment led Sean along with Sarah to found Eye Craft Optometry in 2018.

Sean has a thorough knowledge of optics and prescription glasses fitting and dispensing. Day to Day, Sean takes care of the reception and Opticians duties. Outside of that Sean is responsible for the remaining non-Optometrist tasks at Eye Craft, from the marketing to cleaning the floor, no task is too big or too small. You can see his handy work in the office reception area and the ongoing addition of hand-crafted office essentials.

In his free time Sean enjoys, mountain biking, camping, and cooking on an open fire! As one of the NSMBA trail builders you can find him working on the Baden Powell trail or Lower Expresso. In fact, Sean has had a hand in building and maintaining many of the trails on the North Shore (John Deere, Penny Lane, Boogie-Nights, Pingu, Expresso, Lower Oilcan, Bobsled to name but a few). He enjoys being able to give back to the community by maintaining a resource for all to enjoy!
